General Manager - Catering

The General Manager will have responsibility for managing all operational aspects of our client as well as managing relationships with key clients. This business is located in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Candidates have the option of residing in Bahrain if required, if they are open to commute to Al Khobar on a daily basis.

The GM will be responsible for managing a team including division heads, material, sales and marketing, in addition to Human Resources, Finance and Technical Support functions.
DESIRED PROFILE & EXPERIENCE:

The successful candidate will have between 5 and 10 years of general management experience with P&L responsibilities (ideally exceeding SAR 200 million). This individual will have executive experience in leading operations, ideally having exposure managing within a matrix environment with responsibility for human resources, finance and/or sales/marketing functions. Experience with catering services or facilities management would be essential. Experience in creating and executing on a growth strategy is imperative, including the ability to manage client relationships focused on revenue generation.

University degree in Business Administration and/or equivalent education. Must possess the ability to analyze and interpret financial and other related data. Planning, organizing and effective time management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, proven negotiation and project management skills and a valid Drivers License is required

Leadership of cross-functional teams with an ability to leverage internal resources is critical. The GM should bring the credibility to lead a team, including experienced managers, in achieving operational excellence and delivering on client service. In addition, the following competencies are instrumental to this role:
• Provide Visionary Leadership by creating and effectively communicating a compelling strategy around the direction of the business and inspiring, leading, and motivating employees, to achieve those goals.
• Build Organizational Collaboration by partnering across organizational lines and work cooperatively within and outside one’s own team in order to best serve client needs and exceed the expectations of end customers and clients.
• Strategic Agility and the ability to learn quickly and leverage a flexible mindset in response to shifting dynamics, adversity and/or change. And the ability to develop new business opportunities, given changing conditions.
• Building People Capability: Ability to lead a 2,000+ person, cross-functional, regional team and provide coaching to foster the learning of their team members and play an active role in the acquiring, developing and retaining talent. Experience working with indirect resources and “client” teams is important. Exposure to labor relations could be helpful.
• Building Performance-Based Relationships: Ability to create, develop and promote a positive customer experience utilizing operations, marketing and pricing strategies to deliver the highest quality service delivery. Ability to be outward facing, able to confidently present to clients at all levels and create buy-in on new ideas (innovative thinking will be critical)
• Disciplined Execution: Orientation towards a process-focused decisive course of action that will ensure that our client and their client/ customer needs are met with a high standard of excellence, urgency and predictability.
• Communicate at all levels; knowledge and confidence to articulate the organization's strategic goals and objectives. Influence people to commit and accept responsibility for actions combined with the patience to listen and respond.
